A Few

Words About Us

Holistic Pain Solutions believes in working with the body to create natural and permanent healing for all types of acute and chronic pain syndromes. Although many of our patients present with musculoskeletal complaints, HPS supports pain syndromes of all origins including neurological, digestive pain, sinus pain, neuropathy, cramping, menstrual pain, and pain of unknown origins. Our combination of ancient and modern modalities allow us to provide long-lasting, drug-free relief to our clients. This synergistic use of techniques also allows us to address to the emotional and spiritual aspects of pain as well as its physical manifestations.

Holistic Pain Solutions

Patient Experience

New patients begin their care at HPS with a 45-minute consultation.  Together, one of HPS's practitioners and the patient develop a treatment plan that fits that patient's budget, schedule, and goals. If time allows, the practitioner may provide some short pain-relief procedures during the first visit. Treatment plans may span as little as one week to as long as 3 months, and will usually include supplements and self-care practices in addition to in-office procedures. Patients may elect to pay for services individually or purchase an unlimited service pass.

Most individual services are completed within 15-30 minutes, although some patients may wish to combine multiple services into longer visits. The typical new patient needs 2 cumulative hours of service per week for the first month for optimal results, while established patients usually need less frequent, shorter treatments for maintenance. Patients also have the option of extending the duration of their services if they choose (e.g., they may choose the length of their massage or laser therapy sessions and may dictate how long they wish to retain needles during acupuncture or retain cups during cupping therapy).

Jessica Manson is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) who obtained her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in 2015 and her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008. Her interest in Oriental medicine was sparked in 2006 when she found her own success story as a patient. She has extensive training in pulse diagnosis, nutritional and herbal consultation, and dry needling. Jessica values an integrative approach to medicine. She has worked under a local physician and encourages open conversation with other healthcare practitioners. In addition to her formal teaching experience, she created several study tools that continue to be used by students. Along with a donation from her family and support from the board of directors, she spearheaded the creation of a model-based anatomy laboratory program at her school. While she treats all health conditions, her interests include:

  • Pain management

  • Digestive health

When not seeing patients at HPS, Jessica works as a clinician at Driftwood Recovery, an in-patient addiction treatment center in Driftwood, TX. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys riding horses, practicing tai chi, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Monica Waltrip, LMT

Massage Therapist

A Dallas native, Monica moved to Austin in 2008 to be closer to family. She worked for Petco as an animal specialist, dog trainer, and groomer before becoming a massage therapist.  Her interest in massage was prompted by a desire to help people with physical issues in a nurturing way, especially her partner who suffered from low back pain and sciatica at the time. She graduated from Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in 2014 and has since been self employed and done extensive contract massage therapy work in the greater Austin area. While she focuses on sports and clinical massage, she also has proficiency in relaxation, deep tissue, sports, and prenatal techniques. Monica has certifications covering a range of modalities including shiatsu, lomi lomi, clinical massage, ashiatsu, and lymphatic drainage as well as extensive study in Thai style massage and trigger point work. When not practicing massage therapy, Monica enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 chickens.

Tiki and Turbo

Therapy Dogs

Tiki and Turbo are Holistic Pain Solutions' resident therapy dogs.  Jessica is amazed at how much better results patients get from their treatments when they are able to pet the dogs before and after their visits. Turbo is a coming 6 year old border collie and Tiki is an approximately 14 year old chihuahua mix. They are experts in giving cuddles and love nothing more than pets and belly rubs.
